The 2023 KTM 200 Duke Fits A Lot Of Punch In A Small Package
Contents
The smallest road bike currently available for sale by KTM is the 2023 200 Duke – a pint-sized iteration of its legendary Duke naked bike line. Sitting at just over half the size of the next smallest Duke, the 200 is an entry-level toy with all of the performance and refinement the European manufacturer is known for.
While 200cc ( actually 199.5) may not seem like a beast, KTM seems to have pulled the most out of the single-cylinder powerplant. Producing about 25hp and 13lb-ft of torque, this naked bike shouldn’t have much issue getting around as an entry-level cycle, though we would probably recommend a larger model if you’re chasing down lap records. The Duke sits at roughly 350 lbs (159 kg) fully loaded, making it a very maneuverable toy in an urban setting or for a bit of fun in the twisties.
As the base model, the 200 Duke obviously sacrifices some features for its small price tag, but the bike still stands up to the competition. ABS is standard, along with KTM’s “supermoto mode” which allows the rear tire to be slid through corners while the front wheel is kept in check by ABS. Suspension is provided by an upside-down 43mm forks up front and a monoshock in the rear. Key riding information is provided by an LCD dashboard – basic, but it gets the job done.
The 200 Duke’s aesthetics are reminiscent of the larger Duke models in the 2023 KTM lineup, with a large front headlight and sleek lines throughout. Two colours are available: Classic KTM orange with black accents or sIlver with orange accents.
The 2023 KTM 200 Duke starts at $4,199 USD / $4,999 CAD.
