2022 Royal Enfield Int 650 Twin: The Classic Royal Enfield Experience
Contents
What could possibly be better than a Royal Enfield with classic looks calling back to their original 1960s Interceptor, stamped and posted with modern components and technology? The 2022 Interceptor 650 is the perfect bike to get you from point A to B with a refined no-fuss attitude.
The beating heart of the 2022 Int 650 is its 648cc parallel-twin mill capable of getting you through town thanks to 47 horsepower and 38.3 lb-ft of torque. This same engine is shared with its brother, the Continental GT650 twin. Royal Enfield has taken care to minimize vibrations from the engine through to the frame thanks to the nature of its lower power figures paired with some updates that came last year in the form of a new Bosch fuel injection system.
41mm front forks and 88mm twin coil-over rear suspension have 5-stage adjustable preload to ensure a safe and smooth ride depending on the rider’s weight and riding style, and twin-piston ByBre brakes ensure this urban classic can come to a stop when it matters (with Bosch dual-channel ABS being an important component to this equation).
To celebrate the British manufacturer’s successful 120th anniversary of selling quality motorcycle products, the 650 Twin brothers come in ‘120th Anniversary Editions’ boasting a fully blacked-out silhouette and special badging/iconography to denote the importance of this major milestone in motorcycle history. Hand-painted pinstriping and special brass badging (made in collaboration with the Sirpi Senthil family) blanket this edition along with some factory accessories such as engine and heel guards, bar-end mirrors, and an additional flyscreen.
The bike is visually timeless, and like all models found in their 2022 lineup, it is surely built to last the test of time.
